Position Overview:
The ideal candidate of the position will have a strong background in Offshore Oil & Gas Industry, be an expert in Topsides Concept Engineering, and provide strategic focus in the Topsides Concept Engineering for Conceptual/pre-FEED/FEED/EPC(I) projects being bid in the offshore area. This will include FPSO’s, FLNG as well as other Fixed and Floating platforms/facilities.
The strategic focus will also include providing support to Hanwha Ocean engineering teams based at Houston/Seoul/Amsterdam and elsewhere as necessary including Conceptual, pre-FEED and FEED for projects in the offshore area in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic focus, supervision and guidance for Topsides Conceptual Feasibility Study/Pre-FEED and FEED of Floating platforms/facilities projects.
- Plan and organize for Topsides Conceptual Feasibility Study/pre-FEED/FEED including preparation of CTR’s (Cost, Time and Resources) and engineering execution plan
- Prepare engineering execution plan for each project being bid for supporting Proposal team including project engineering budget adherence for all the work executed.
- Provide deliverables for Topsides Conceptual Feasibility Study / Pre-FEED and FEED work.
- Coordinate Engineering Subcontractors by preparing technical specifications, technical audit and evaluation subcontractor performances.
- Having knowledge of safety policies and procedures and performs assigned duties in a safe manner. And, keeping abreast of technical developments, National and International codes and standards.
- Overall Topsides system design in concept stage based on the technical knowledge of P&IDs, PFDs, UFDs, SFDs, Heat & Material Balance table and each system component.
- Interaction between engineering disciplines and other functions to coordinate with Lead Engineers of other engineering disciplines.
- Recommend improvements to systems, processes, procedures and tools as required execute projects.
- Provide Topsides Concept Engineering Management training to Engineers.
- Technical Support to Marketing and Commercial Departments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the offshore Oil & Gas industry including a minimum 2 years of management experience with technical leadership skills for problem-solving and conflict resolution experience will be preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of engineering practices and principles as well as an understanding of scientific methods of problem-solving
- Proven track record of developing and implementing Topsides Conceptual Feasibility Studies during /pre-FEED/FEED or tender stage. Prior experience with FPSO or FLNG design development and/or engineering project delivery (e.g. at a top-tier FPSO contractor) will be preferred.
- Strong understanding with offshore and/or marine industry terminology, concepts, and practices.
- Excellent program and project management skills with strong document management
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong technical, written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Able to lead, motivate, train and provide ongoing development of colleagues.
- Ability to provide supervision and proven commitment to coaching and training of Engineers.
- Knowledge of systems, calculations and use of 2D/3D computer aided design.
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory codes and standards and relevant statutory documentation.
- Experienced in commercial and administrative aspects of engineering.
- Experienced in planning, monitoring, forecasting and reporting.
