Senior Proposal Engineer
About the Role
My client is looking for a Senior Proposal Engineer to play a key role in the sales process of refit projects for yachts. With your maritime expertise in systems on board ships or yachts, you will contribute to a wide range of projects, from maintenance to major renovations. You will be stationed at the location where the refit request is taking place, collaborating with various departments to ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate customer requirements alongside internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare cost price and sales price calculations.
- Compile and provide work lists and specifications for refit requests.
- Create calculations and quotations using the company’s proposal model.
- Update the knowledge database to provide suitable quotes efficiently.
- Occasionally visit yachts on-site, both locally and internationally, to assess the work required.
You will work closely with teams from Sales, Service Coordination, Supply Chain Management, Product Management, Project Controllers, Engineering, Production, and Co-makers.
Qualifications
- A higher vocational education in shipbuilding or a relevant technical field.
- Relevant experience in the maritime sector, ideally from a repair yard.
- Knowledge of repair and refit methods, particularly for yachts.
- Basic understanding of laws and regulations related to seaworthy yacht construction.
- Strong command of English (spoken and written).
- Strong analytical skills with a customer and results-oriented approach.
