Senior Java Engineer – Hybrid, Hoofddorp (NL) | €70k to €80k + Permanent Contract

We’re working with a tech consultancy based in Hoofddorp that’s hiring a Senior Java Engineer to join their team. This isn’t just about coding. They’re not looking for someone to sit quietly behind a screen. They want someone who’s curious, communicative and confident in both code and conversation. Someone who sees technical puzzles not as problems, but as opportunities to create clean, pragmatic solutions that actually make an impact.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing and building high-quality backend systems using Java (and sometimes Kotlin)
  • Working with modern frameworks like Spring and Spring Boot
  • Building and scaling microservices architectures
  • Collaborating closely with teams and clients to understand problems and deliver smart solutions
  • Getting involved in the full development lifecycle, from design to deployment

What they’re looking for:

  • At least 7 years of hands-on experience with Java
  • Solid experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservices
  • Familiarity with tools like Maven or Gradle, and version control with Git
  • Understanding of CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab or Azure DevOps)
  • A technical degree (HBO or equivalent) and strong communication skills
  • Bonus if you know your way around Kotlin, GraphQL, or old-school SOAP
