As part of their continued expansion, they are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their finance team in the Netherlands and support their European operations across NL and UK markets.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to take ownership of the monthly management reporting process for the UK and NL entities. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, performing reconciliations, analyzing revenue and costs, and managing statutory and compliance filings. You will also play a key role in invoice approvals, tax preparation, and supporting the broader finance team with ad hoc projects.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and compile month-end management reports, including general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review and analyze monthly P&L statements to provide insights into financial performance.
- Lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
- Support the compilation of the annual cost budget.
Tax & Compliance:
- Take ownership of VAT management within EXO and ensure timely preparation and submission of periodic VAT returns.
- Manage income and withholding tax preparation and filings, working closely with external tax accountants.
Accounts Payable & Credit Management:
- Scan, code, review, and approve invoices within the AP system.
- Oversee creditor and supplier setup and management.
- Support customer credit application reviews and credit allocation, collaborating closely with the Credit Controller.
Other Financial Operations:
- Maintain and manage fixed assets within the FA system (VIA).
- Provide payroll support when required.
- Offer additional accounting support as needed by the head office.
Whom we are looking for?
The ideal candidate has strong financial expertise and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience in EU distribution and retail, with knowledge of OSS returns.
- Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus).
- Progress toward or completion of CA, CPA, CIMA, or ACCA qualifications.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, Dutch GAAP, and UK GAAP, along with excellent analytical skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, with adaptability to new software (currently using MYOB EXO).
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
