As the first overseas subsidiary of BYD group, our main focus is to provide European customers with new energy vehicles, rechargeable batteries, solar panels, energy storage systems and other new energy products, as well as related after-sales services.
About the role
The Product Management department at BYD is responsible for planning a sustainable product and technology roadmap for Europe, focusing on developing advanced, fully electric bus and truck series that meet the current and future needs of the European public transportation market. In collaboration with leading European suppliers, we continuously enhance our design and engineering capabilities to ensure exceptional product performance and quality. Given the rapid growth in demand for electric trucks in Europe, we are expanding our team to include a dedicated Product Manager.
Your key responsibilities are:
- Technical Analysis: Perform comprehensive analysis of the technical aspects and functions of European trucks to guide the development and research of BYD’s new truck models and related technologies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Review new regulations, integrate standards, and establish implementation guidelines for truck products.
- Customer Requirements: Investigate customer requirements and develop technical solutions to fulfill their needs.
- Localization Strategy: Develop localized product development strategies for BYD Trucks in Europe.
- Project Management: Assist in the design and project establishment of new truck models, ensuring effective communication with China HQ.
- Team Support: Support and lead other truck engineers with strategic decisions and technical guidance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Vehicle Engineering or a related field, with knowledge of commercial vehicles preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in the truck industry.
- Ability to work effectively in a global business environment, particularly in the design, development, production, and evolution of high-tech products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Chinese is a plus.
- Clear and systematic thinking with strong judgment and problem-solving competencies.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well in a team setting, with some management responsibilities.
- Willingness to travel within the EU.
- Understanding of legislation and standards relevant to the truck industry.
