Key Responsibilities

The Air Import Operations Supervisor leads the air import department, ensuring efficient management of inbound shipments, adherence to regulatory requirements, and delivery of exceptional customer service. The role involves supervising daily operations, optimizing processes, and guiding a team to achieve performance targets while maintaining strong client and partner relationships.

  1. Operational Management

    • Oversee air import operations, including cargo receipt, customs clearance, and final delivery coordination.
    • Ensure timely and accurate processing of import documentation, such as customs entries, arrival notices, and delivery orders.
    • Collaborate with customs brokers, carriers, and warehouse providers to streamline import activities and resolve operational challenges.
  2. Team Leadership

    • Manage and lead a team of import coordinators by assigning tasks, setting priorities, and evaluating performance.
    • Provide training, mentorship, and support to enhance team expertise and productivity.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment that promotes continuous improvement.
  3. Customer Relationship Management

    • Act as the primary escalation point for complex customer issues and inquiries, ensuring prompt resolution.
    • Maintain proactive communication with clients regarding shipment status, delivery updates, and service expectations.
    • Build and nurture strong relationships with key accounts and service partners to drive client satisfaction.
  4. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

    • Ensure full compliance with import regulations, including customs and local trade policies.
    • Monitor and manage security procedures and documentation accuracy to mitigate risks.
    • Stay informed of regulatory changes to maintain operational compliance.
  5. Process Improvement & Cost Control

    • Identify inefficiencies in the import process and implement operational improvements to enhance performance.
    • Monitor departmental budgets, control costs, and drive profitability.
    • Leverage technology and automation to improve tracking, reporting, and communication.
  6. Performance Reporting

    • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including transit times, cost savings, and compliance rates.
    • Prepare detailed reports and analyses to support strategic planning and decision-making.
