The Accounting Director EMEA is a senior leader in the Global Accounting organisation and the EMEA R2R team which will deliver work class finance solutions to the EMEA region of Digital Realty. As a senior finance professional, you will bring all your experience to this new organisation as we implement a new finance operating model and organisation.
The Accounting Director EMEA will be expected to be a leader in the post-merger transformation and alignment of the EMEA R2R team with focus on key markets (France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Nordics), being knowledge on the technical aspects of accounting, especially local compliance requirements as well as ensuring your team operate to the highest standards, proactively manage risk areas, provide solutions, and implement process improvements.
Principal Responsibilities – Accounting Director EMEA
First-hand experience of Revenue Accounting (ASC 606 & IFRS 15) and Lease Accounting (ASC 842 & IFRS 16) as well as good understanding of M&A activities including Due Diligence, Valuations, Merger accounting, Transfer Pricing, Tax structures, Cash pooling etc.
Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues across EMEA and at the corporate HQ on a wide variety of initiatives, and in a virtual environment

Managing a team of finance professionals responsible for full financial controllership for a portfolio of Data Centres across EMEA.

Requirements – Accounting Director EMEA
A candidate with deep technical knowledge and experience managing US GAAP and various local GAAP statutory financial statements and audits
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, as we build the combined organisation
Professionally qualified accountant with 10+ years PQE
Experience in leading or playing a senior role in a significant projects / transactions, i.e. M&A, Accounting policy changes, etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional relationship building skills, both internally & externally
High levels of attention to detail and ability to join the dots in ambiguous environments
Have the gravitas of a senior leader for a large, distributed organization
